Click DDS Tab and set the DDS I/F Control Serial, click Apply Finally goto General Tab, and set Use Intel SPL, and Auto Track Presets On, Click Apply, Click OK Now Click Close in the Power control to ensure that the Settings will be written to the Registry - this is something I should fix, so that Clicking Apply in Config should also write the settings to the disk as well as making them active in the G8JCFSDR instance.

Go into Config, Serial Tab, and set Com port to Com5, Baud Rate to 115200, 8 Data Bits, 1 stop Bit, No Parity. Hi Dirk Before you start up G8JCFSDR, use Task Manager to make sure there is no instance already loaded, then start G8JCFSDR from the Start Menu in Trace Mode.

And that's my final question Q3: What am I doing wrong? Just in the case it might matter: My windows is a 20H2, 19042.1110 Thanks Dirk Two popup windows appear on start (with elevation): clsDDSSeriallF.OpenCom: PollMode : Unable to Open COM5 and modSetupRx.initialiseRX Line=0 Error Portt COM5 Error Code=0 Error Desc= Port settings and SDRModel are remembered correctly, it seems however the Elektor Shield is not detected (Calibration should reflect this). Q2: Is my assumption correct that the Arduino is working correctly without echo and hence no "offline" way (with a terminal) to check the communication? 5.) Although I was able to change the settings for the serial port to be used a connection can not be established. However I can't enter anything - or there's no echo from the Arduino. If I open a putty terminal with 115200 baud on COM5 a short message is written. I decided to "xload" the software, which apparently worked. Q1: Is that normal or the intended behaviour? 4.) During my loop in (3) the Elektor SDR was not detected although the UNO is brandnew and empty. I've entered a quite painful and time costly loop before I realized that I have to wait roughly 12min before the program finally shut down (and writing the setting to disk) after the window disappeared from screen. Next start the program was again complaining about COM1 (instead of COM5) and all settings (including the SDR setting) were lost. After a couple of minutes I've killed it from the taskmanager. It was active with 1.2% of CPU load but no disk activity. I tried to restart and was told another instance is already runnning - correct, I can see the instance.

3.) In the Config I've change the port to COM5 (left all other parameters untouched) and closed the software.

2.) During the first start (with elevation) the program complained about not being able to open COM1.

Let me try to explain this in a chronological order: 1.) Installation of b828 went fine. Hi all, I'm facing some massive problems with the Elektor SDR Shield 2.
